WE DRINK TEA AND LEARN THE LETTER E

Learning to read and write should be a human right. Worldwide, there are about 920 million illiterate people and 600 million of them are women.

Livstycket in Sweden The pattern The whole world in one bag

About 25% of Livstycket's participants are illiterate. It is more difficult for illiterate adults to participate in the society, to know their obligations and defend their rights. Thanks to our reading project We drink tea and learn the letter e, 16 of these participants were given the opportunity to learn to read and write.

The project resulted in a textile pattern, a book – and best of all, the women broke the reading code. They are no longer illiterate.
